Then Sings My Soul : My Father's Eyes
When I first plunged into blogging, I didn't have a clue that "blog name" matters a lot. When blogger asked what I'd like to name my blog, I thought - well, this is going to be my online journal where I will write my thoughts when I am down looking up or high on Spirit looking down finding someone I can help or just looking within to reflect. I thought of the bird's eyeview, then the worm's eyeview so I decided "Liza's Eyeview" would be appropriate.
Later on, when I started visiting other blogs, I felt kinda ashamed of my blog name because it sounded corny. Why didn't I choose a witty blog name like "Rocks In My Dryer" or a fun on like "I Should Be Folding My Laundry"? Liza's Eyeview - yikes, its not hip at all.
But then I remembered one of my favorite songs when I first became a Christian called "My Fathers Eyes". That appeased me. I adopted it to be my blog theme song. I thought, this blog can be used by God, and this can also be my ministry - I think that's ok. Little did I know that God will honor that little prayer of mine to use this blog and my blogging for His glory. So whenever I sing My Father's Eyeview I get teary eyed knowing that this Liza's Eyeview means I have a bit of My Father's Eyes. Most of you already know the lyrics to the song but I thought I'd put down the chorus together with the video.
* This post is also my entry to the "Then Sings My Soul" meme and "Works Of God Weekend" at A Dusty Frame.

Amazing Liza...I just put that song on my projectplaylist before coming to TSMSS...My Father's Eyes... how appropriate for Liza's Eyeview...I Remember it well!!!
Excellent choice and I'm sure both Your Heavenly Father and Joey love your blog's name, purpose and now theme song! so smile:)
May God continue to use this as a ministry! Be blessed for blessing me and your words of encouragement over at my blog! "...We do need eyes to see the good in things..."
and "eyes of compassion" just like LIZA'S EYE :) <><
Great old song and a great story, thanks for sharing.
Lize, I've always enjoyed this song and it really does speak to me, too.
Have a great weekend!
I was just thinking of this song yesterday! Oh that we could all just be more like Him.
How much does Amy rock?!?!?!
Great song choice - an old but a goody as my grandma would say!
I love how you shared your vision for your blog through this song. It's awesome!
Sheila
Oh Liza...this should have been the song I picked to go along with my story of forgiveness. Thank you for sharing it and for visiting my TSMSS! -Blessings, Laurie
Oh this song takes me back!! Love it!
Love Love Love this song! Thanks for sharing!
Liza,
This is a great song! I don't thing your name is corny at all. I think it is great and really it's not just the name, but the ministry. Your spreading God's word, reaching out to other people and the list goes on. So be proud of your blog and what you are doing.
Oh, and I will leave some words of encouragement for your friends who have lost their baby. Thanks for giving me their site.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Cheryl
Memories.....Yep that song takes me back also. Great song, thanks for bringing it back to mind.
BTW, I had no clue about naming a blog either when I started, actually I have no clue how I even got started! :) LOL!
Beautiful song, thanks for reminding me of it. I love the story of your blog's name. I felt the same way. My last name has the spelling "bout" in it and when I started my blog crazy was how I was feeling. Since then God has truly blessed me...I don't feel so crazy anymore, but I guess I'll leave the name alone...maybe I can find a song to go with it.
Hey Liza,
I do like your blog's name! How perfect.
I've always loved this song and has been the cry of my heart, to truly see as Jesus saw!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend♥
Beautiful thoughts. Thank you for sharing.
Wow thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for participating.
I think your blog name is just fine and now knowing that it's because you
want to have your Father's eyes, it's even better:)!
Lizzie
