And One More Post About My Stress

Today is a lot better than the past couple days. I must say my stress level has gone down to normal instead of high (and yes, I used some of the tips I gave here). Some of you may already be sick and tired of my stress posts, but for those who are not, here's one more for you. I think this will be my last for now...until my next period comes around...

1) PMS -My period came today. No wonder my hormones are gong biszek! I think this played a major role on the increase of my anxiety level. PMS is a real thing, and unfortunately it does affect my emotional and psychological state, even if I wouldn't want it to.

2) Thyroid Pills - Bad girl (that's me) still has not called in for prescription refill - bad! bad! bad! I need that pill now. I have hypothyroid and if my thyroid level is low, I am prone to tiredness and depression.

3) Hubby's Work situation - I think the stress there is now subsiding. I was just thinking the other day that one of the reasons I was so stressed is that my husband was having major difficulty at work and I am "assimilating" it. Being the good wife (ehem) that I am, I made it a point to listen to all his "venting" when he comes home from work. I know that that contributed to my high stress level, and now that it's quite settled, I too will have lesser stress related to this.

4) My Parents - The intervals of my mom's chest pains "syndrome" (syndrome, my term for it) is becoming less as she experiences the syndrome more frequently than she used to. It used to be every other week, then every weekend, then every other day...now every night. Tatay talked to me about them wanting to go back to the Philippines. More about that later (that's a post of its own).

5) School - I really wish I have more time doing homework with kids, reviewing their lessons, and even volunteering in class. I feel that I'm giving my kids bare minimum and I know they'd do better if I can be there more. My daughter is very independent and does her homework on her own. Sometimes I can review it with her at night, but most of the time I just quickly browse in the morning to see what she's done. On the other hand, I need to be there for my son to do his homework. What an average kid would take 10 minutes to do a homework, it will take my son an hour. i am not kidding. (My son's opinion of homework: CHECK THIS OUT) He easily gets distracted and discouraged. I was a very good student and so i think I am expecting or hoping my kids to be the same.

So that's it for now. I will come back later for 2 posts... one is the continuation of my parenting post and the other is the post about Nanay and Tatay.....

It sounds like to me that you are doing the very best that you can as you contend with all this stress. Thinking of you.

I'm glad you're feeling better now. Seems like everything happens at once sometimes, doesn't it?
And YES, you MUST take your thyroid pills!! I have a family member with hypothyroidism, so I know what can happen if you stop taking your pills!
I like your list of stress relievers, too! :)

Oh that evil PMS and crazy hormones do me in every month also. I can so relate!! I often feel that my ever changing hormone induced emotions/stress are part of a big spiritual battle also.

Glad to hear it's a bit better.......did you get those thyroid pills yet? :)
