Sunday Scribbling: Spicy

What makes life hot and spicy (as opposed to boring and bland)?

Is it the trials that come our way that makes us strong?
Is it the passion and intimacy with we share with our loved one?
Is it the annoying neighbor or co-worker?
Is it the demanding boss or unfair supervisor?

Is it the laughter of a child,
or the poop of the new born infant?
Is it the stubbornness of a two year old,
or the rebellion of a teen?
Is it the financial trouble, or credit card debt?
Is it winning in a lottery, or inheriting a wealth?

Is it the first love, or our first kiss?
Is it the dating game, or the marriage bliss?
Is it the books we love to read, or the movies we like to watch?
Is it the morning sunrise or the dramatic sunset?

Is it living in the big city, or in a town or country?
Is it blogging and scribbling or just plain journaling?
I think I am getting nowhere, so I better stop here.
All I wanted to do was to scribble something SPICY.

For a more spicy scribblings, visit Sunday Scribbling.

If you had called newborn infant poop "savory", I would have suggested that Liza check into a mental health clinic. HAHA. I'm just kidding. It is a lovely prose.

The variety of life, but we do tend to think of only HOT when we think of spice.

Excellent Liza -- although having raised 3 kids (my youngest 'baby' is now 29) I don't have fond memories of the 'poop'... ;)

Well they could add some spice to life although if I had the choice I would rather leave some off of my spice rack.

I like the way you expand spiciness beyond its usual limits.

these and more.....and what is interesting is that most of what makes life hot and spicy are kind of considered "ordinary..."

Maybe ordinary becomes extraordinary (ie. hot and spicy) when we decide to really and truly experience life's daily moments...with an open heart to taking it all in......well except for the newborn poop....I've had enough of that !!

Nice use of anaphora!

(Something I teach my kids after reading MLK Jr's "I have a dream" speech.)
