I need some sleep - i am sleep deprived. I don't think I am at the point of needing sleeping pills yet, but I feel tired. I am sure this lack of sleep is due to anxiety, which is also due to having so many things to do at so little time.
We have guests coming over from Connecticut and staying with us for a week. They are two wonderful friends. They arrive tomorrow. I wanted so much to de-clutter my house further to make it more presentable but I don't see that happening. The most I can do right now is to clean out our refrigerator. Who know what mold culture is growing in there. I am not exaggerating, I have not cleaned out our refrigerator for a while and I'm sure there are some food with molds in there.
I woke up at 4:00 am today - Sunday! I mean who do you know of a working mom who would wake up at 4 am on a Sunday morning that she's off from work?! I should be sleeping in.
So, I need to keep this post short and get started with my mission: throw moldy food out of the refrigerator, clean and organize it!
UPDATE 2-15-08:
One of Sunday Scribblings' prompt this week is "sleep". I thought the old post above is appropriate, but I also want to enter something "new".... so here's a newly written haiku:
Sleep, o sleep, I need
For my mind and body's health
Sleep? back to bed I go
For my mind and body's health
Sleep? back to bed I go

Sometimes, I nap is much more productive than working. Take care of yourself first. This doesn't have to be a selfish thing. How can you entertain guests when you're so tired you can't be cheerful or keep your eyes open? YOU are what they are there for - not your house.
Glad you found my post helpful. Shocked, actually. I didn't post it to be helpful. I just posted it because that's what I was thinking about!
May I ask HOW it helped you?
How did it help me? I got reminded of the importance of naps. I am a believer of naps, even at least on weekends, but I have been ignoring that. Well...I need to go get some sleep. I'm going back to bed. I'll clean the ref wen I wake up :)
Hope you get lots more sleep...I need my 10 to 6 sleep or I am tired and cranky.
I love the image you chose to go along with your piece on sleep. I too have anxiety - it ebbs and flows and affects my sleep differenttly at different times. Funny my 8 year old black lab never seems to miss a good night's sleep or a long long lazy nap. Perhaps I should try and come back as a pampered pooch in my next life!
It's not Sunday here yet! I haven't even gone to bed Saturday night yet. The wonders of the Internet! I enjoyed your haiku, and I identify with your sleep deprivation.
Evasive sleep and ever present fridge mold. No wonder we're tired! Great post and I love the photo. Dogs and cats do seem to find time to nap...
All of us seem to be sleep deprived. I can sleep for hours on end during weekends.
snooze time, baby!
I just got up from a nap; I totally understand where you're coming from!
