Nanay Is Now I Heaven, But Her Memories Lives on Earth

As long as we have memories, yesterday remains. As long as we have hope, tomorrow waits. As long as we have love, today is beautiful. ~ @TheNotebook

Have you seen the movie The Notebook?  The story is very similar to my Mom  (Nanay) and Dad's (Tatay) story.  Not exactly the same, but very close ...

My mom passed away on August 10th, 2011, but her memory lives on.  I have a long post about my mom that I drafted handwritten in a notebook.  I think I left the notebook in the plane coming back to Maui. Oh well ... maybe it's meant to be.  Maybe the person who'll find it needs to read what I wrote in there.  The good news is that my mom's memories are not tied up in the notebook, but in all our hearts.  As our family misses my mom, this quote from The Notebook is a great reminder that as long as we have  love, today is beautiful. And I know my mom would agree to that.

I like the quote too. It captures a truth about life. I am so sorry about your mom's passing and know you miss her. It was never easy being apart from her, even when she was still on earth. Now she is farther away than PI, and that makes it harder than ever for you to reconnect. The missing will go on till you meet again, but at least we SHALL ALL meet again. That is the safety net under the trapeze, and though it doesn't help in the short run, it does help in the long run. I am sending big hugs to you, Liza. Your mom was beautiful, and she raised such a beautiful daughter, body, soul and spirit. I have been so blessed to know you. I know it will be a difficult year for you and you will be constant in my thoughts and prayers. Much love always.

Dear dear Liza, please forgive me for not contacting you.
I stay so busy writing and with this home and garden I do not read blogs like I use to.
I am so very sorry about the loss of your mother.
I love you
Ernestine
