A Surprise Blog Blessing

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord, not for men,
since you know that you will receive an
inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
It is the Lord Christ you are serving. -
Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

I was looking forward to Thankful Thursday to share this wonderful story on my "blog blessing". Yesterday, when I opened the mail box, I received a wonderful touching card, and in that card was a check - with a HUGE amount!

I cried when I saw the check because it was totally unexpected, and yet so totally appreciated. The thoughtful words in the card was already more than a blessing, and the check was an icing on the cake!

And I am teary eyed as I am typing this right now. As many of you already know, I see blogging as God's gift to me, an answer to my prayer when I asked God to take away any resentment in my heart and any anxiety therein. I fondly refer to this blogging as my "cheap therapy". But within this year it has also become my passion and ministry. It has become an integral part of my Christian life. It has become an avenue for me to bless others as God as blesses me. It gives me so much joy to be able to use the God given "blogging abilities" to minister to others. And so when I receive this check, this huge amount check, I was blown away - it is a reminder that we cannot outgive God. When we truly do everything for the glory of God, He will bless us beyond our imagination.

And that, my blogging friends, is my Thankful Thursday sharing for this week. Go to Sting My Heart for more thankful hearts.

What a wonderful way for God to bless you. My blessing of the day was hearing my youngest laugh as she was reading a joke book to herself. It was better than a check for me and the encouragement that I needed.
