I once posted a WFMW post on quickie dinners and this is another one (a.k.a. part 2). The other day I was in a rush, I looked at the pantry and the refrigerator to see what I can do for dinner. The answer: Tuna Melt! Open a can of tuna and drain, Pour content in a bowl add mayonnaise (according to your desire - very tiny drop or about a spoonful), a dash of salt and pepper. Mash and stir. Put on top of a semi toasted loaf of bread. Put fresh tomatoes (cut in circles) on top. Top with cheese (cheddar, swiss, provolone, or mozzarella - whatever your desire is). Put in oven or toaster oven for 5 to 10 minutes (or until the cheese are melted). Serve hot. If you like spicy, put jalopeno peppers together with the tomato before you put the cheese on top:

My mom used to make these on opened hot dog buns, and called them tuna boats! Yummy ;)
Sounds/looks tasty!
I'm not a tuna fan but I bet this would be good with canned chicken.
You have been tagged for the "What’s On Your Refrigerator?" meme. It is a Meme and a contest! I'll be giving away two free home organization books. Read all about it at http://heartofwisdom.com/heartathome
This sounds yummy! Thanks for the idea!
I like to melt tuna and cheese between two pieces of bread like grilled cheese and open up some soup.
I don't like tuna, but I do like a good "melt". I make a dish just like this, but with a few slices of turkey or ham. Something about that tomato slice and the ooey gooey cheese!
