Rainy Days And Mondays Alway Gets Me Down ...

Actually, rainy days are ok, it's the Mondays that get me down! Yes folks, I am fighting this once again - it's a battle I have to face every Monday morning. Someone might say, maybe you just have to surrender it to God. I did .. or I am trying...

Funny, this Karen Carpenter's song keeps on ringing in my mind this morning that I ended up googling it. I found a video and the lyrics. Lo and behold, a phrase in the lyrics stood out:

Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
It's nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
To run and find the one who loves me

Sounds and or looks familiar? It does. Funny that it seems the only thing to do is to run and find the one who loves me. And yes, that is Jesus. He promised never to leave or forsake me. And I always call upon Him on a Monday morning when I am down....

Talking to myself and feeling old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin' around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothing is really wrong
Feeling like I don't belong
Walking around some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
It's nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
To run and find the one who loves me

(*) What I feel is come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it's all about
Hanging around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me

Repeat (*)

Hangin around, nothing do to but frown

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Good Morning Liza! I'm fighting the Monday morning blues today too. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you!

Love the banner of the kids decorating the gingerbread house!

I don't usually get down on rainy days, but Mondays usually do it. I'm sure there are studies showing the effects of Mondays on people. For me, it's not just Monday today. It was Sunday, too.
