Lots To Be Thankful For

It's 2:22 AM - I know I should be sleeping, and I will in a few minutes. I actually already had a few hours of sleep (slept while reading to my daughter) but I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't snooze back. I will make my Ovaltine drink shortly and will go back to bed. But for now I just want to post some of my thankfulness. I say some because there really are many that I am thankful for, but I need to go back to bed so I will just mention a few:

I am thankful for the Women's Bible Study going on at Hope Chapel every Tuesday. It is being led by these wonderful godly women of God, and it is such a blessing to be able to learn from them. Last Tuesday night, Jill shared her story about her being a wife who loves, adores, reveres and serves her husband Chris, and I was teary eyed most of the time she was sharing. There is such a graciousness in her that I love. I actually cried when she prayed for us at the end of her sharing. The main topic was "submission" and it was such a hard one for me to hear at this time in my life. That is quite ironic because I am naturally a submissive person - a non confrontational, non-assertive, pleaser type of gal. But if you're a regular reader of this blog you would know that there's one area in our marriage right now that's causing me to resist submission and be stubborn. I will talk more about that struggle and how the Lord is working on my heart - but for now I just want to be thankful for these woman leaders who are leading this study. Lord, continue to bless them and their families.

Well.. I think I'd stick with that one for now. Like what I said, I have lots to be thankful for but I need to go back to bed. Good Night. Sweet Dreams.....

It's wonderful that you are thankful for your bible study and your mentors. A church family is truly one of God's blessings to us. How do people stay strong for the Lord without other believers to encourage and exhort them?

Thanks for coming by my site. I enjoyed your visit!

How wonderful to read how other Christian women are blessing you as they are obedient to what God has called them to do!

Submission involves a choice...and it is what the Lord would have us to do...for our good. And yet, how difficult it can be living in our culture. That's also why we need to encourage one another.

When my husband and I have disagreements about the something, this has been my prayer - change him or change me. We moved across the country for him. I didn't want to, but it turned out to be a good thing. 2 1/2 years later, God moved us right back where we were to start with. I wanted more children, but 2 was enough for him. God gave me peace and now (with 2 dyslexics) I can definitely see the wisdom in this.
