Works for Me: Celebrating Spring Too

Shannon talked about celebrating spring in her WFMW post a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad she did. You see I had planned the "usual" activities with my kids for Easter - like the Easter Egg Hunt and Coloring Eggs, etc. But we got so busy spending time with friends we really didn't get to do them during Easter. The good thing is I didn't stress out about it. I told them that we'll just do them the day after Easter to celebrate spring :). It worked! Here's a photo of our "coloring eggs for spring celebration". We did them this Tuesday morning :)

Tomorrow, we'll do the Spring Egg Hunt. The plastic eggs are still filled with chocolates and candies. Yes, I planned to do an Easter Egg hunt with all kids (my kids and our guests) last Sunday. It didn't happen. So, we're celebrating spring with a egg hunt. Works for me :)

Our holiday was so hectic this year that I am seriously considering keeping the eggs and bunny thing separate from Jesus and Easter Sunday. There was just way too much stuff going on last Sunday!

A spring day celebration is a wonderful idea!

Two years ago I did that with my kids. I liked to see the funny drawings they would make on the egg. Unfortunately, this past year we just bought candied eggs. Next year, I will make them paint eggs again.

That's great. We used to do that. This year we only bought candied eggs. Next year I will make them paint eggs again.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that didn't get around to dying the eggs...

I was so busy the week prior to Easter as I was out of town. I barely had time to get a chocolate bunny for the kids, and barely had the energy to get up for church. So this works for me, too!

Great idea! I love the thought that the events don't have to be solely tied to the exact holiday itself but can be enjoyed at other times.

Great pictures. :)

You know, I never thought about that. My kids weren't with me on Easter (not all of them anyway!) and I was bummed that we couldn't do all the "Easter-y" things. I'll have to keep that in mind for next time!
