Dear God

My mind is cluttered and I am feeling overwhelmed. I know it's nothing new. But would you please send the Holy Spirit to wipe away my anxiety and help me get organized? help me keep my priorities straight and not get distracted by the unnecessary and the mundane. Help me to keep focused and not be enslaved by the tyranny of the urgent. Help me to accomplish the things I need to accomplish, and not worry about those that I don't really need to do. Thank you God, I know I can always count on you.

Liza, you remind me of me with your rambling brain. It is a compliment - you can do a lot. But it's also a curse, because things are never black and white, but full of choice. And so, my suggestion to you is to make the choice that is easiest on you. Don't freak out over the Christmas season. It's not about all there is to do. It's about being you - and being with your friends and family. You are such a gift, so don't freak over the presents and all the shopping (if that's what you're overwhelmed about).

Thank you for your lovely blog.

I think I could have penned this letter myself. Thanks for the reminder to let God help carry my burdens. I also need to remember to slow down and not try and do everything.

Hang in there and remember that so many things we deem "important" during the holidays are really self-imposed!

Take a night off Liza! Order a pizza and just pop in a DVD with the kids.

Take care....

Hi Liza.

There is a whirlwind of healing grace that sweeps our dorm right now. Thank you for your prayers. Slowly but surely, God is working in me, in us, in all of us. Last night I witnessed to a gay dorm mate!

In my current post I shared about God's grace. That same grace is available for you, too you know.

Just receive it and this heaviness you feel now that caused you to utter this prayer, will just lift.

Again, I hope you were blest knowing that you have been a blessing to us here. And be blest even more as you dive into the waters of His wonderful love!

Alleluia!

Dear Liza This has been my prayer over and over through the years. You have your priorities straight. The Lord, you and family. Oh why do we let the Christmas season overwhelm us. We get so caught up in the busyness that we forget what Christmas is truly about. Just take some quiet time for yourself and pray about everything. All will fall in place. God is ever faithful.
You are such a blessing to me. You have been a gift from God in the year 2007.
Love Ernestine

I saw this when you posted it & wanted to make sure I commented. You really touched my heart with this post. Like you were reading my thoughts at the moment!

But I hope God doesn't choose to answer my prayer with a power outage! LOL. Today we have a "going nowhere" day & I really need it. I hope I use it well.
