ABC of Breast Awareness
I was at the doctor's office the other day and noticed a bookmark promoting Breast Health Awareness. If you've noticed, this month I have changed my background to PINK as I want to promote this awareness as well. You know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (in case you didn't know, now you know :) Here's the bookmark says about ABC's of Breast Health:
Annual Mammogram - Start at age 40 and continue as long as you are in good health. Be familiar with your breast so that you will notice any changes and report them to your doctor without delay.
Breast Awareness - Breast self-exams are an option for increasing breast awareness.
Clinical Breast Exam - Have one every year by your doctor or nurse if you are 40 or older, every 3 years if you are in your 20's and 30's.
UPDATE: I just heard about this from Heather. I suggest to go to this blog and vote for this lady :)

I'm almost 40! Yikes! At least I know when I need to go!
Thanks Liza! Short, sweet and very informative.
I'll add that if you have risk factors (e.g. family history of breast cancer), you must start earlier with the mammograms.
am 38, arrhg :D awareness is always good!
