Tales From The Scales

I'm a bit late posting this. I should have done this yesterday. But yesterday I had a major dental surgery! Yes, I have decided to have some molar implants done. But not to get off track on this topic...I have decided to join this challenge because it's a way for me to "be healthy". I do not need to lose a lot of weight. My goal is to lose 5 pounds and then maintain that. My weight dances from 108 to 100 and maintaining it a 100 would be great. By the way, I am barely 5 ft. tall in case you'd want to know...

I am actually off to a great start with this dental surgery. Because I was asked not to eat anything 6 hours prior and I can't eat anything except liquid diet on the next couple of days...I've already lost weight! Yes, all 5 pounds!!! All have been having is that Carnation Liquid Breakfast.

But, as I said it goes back and forth so I am not claiming victory yet. I am very very VERY hungry right now and I know once I start eating I'd really be eating! I LOVE junk foods and I want to get away from that so I can be a good influence to my kids.

So there you go. This is a great challenge - not only to lose weight but to live a healthier life.

I want to lose about 5 to 10 pounds. I am barely 5 ft. tall and weigh 120 pounds. That is the heaviest I have been ever!!! What's really depressing is that I weigh more now than I did two summers ago after having my second daughter!!! I was breastfeeding her and could eat anything.

Bummer.

I hate to complain about my weight as 120 does not sound that bad, but I would love to weigh about 110 as that is what I weighed when the hubby and I got married 10 years ago.

p.s. I hope your recovery goes well!

jaime,

I have very skinny bones so I was 96 when my husband married me.

I know what you mean when you said "I hate to complain when "our wieght" does not sound that bad ...but it's good to strive for a "healtheir sexier" us :)

thanks for the get-well wish. I'm doing well - lip still feeld numb but I'm going o pcik-up daughter to drive her to dance (as I forgot to do that last Wednesday!)

I hope your mouth gets better sooner! Dentists scare me.

I lost 30 pounds 9 years ago, while I was pregnant! I had appendecitis while I was pregnant. By the grace of God,, Shane came out great and healthy, and a side benefit--I lost weight!

Oh, did I mention I gained it back? I have no willpower!

Willpower is my problem too. I've pretty much always been able to eat anything, but no more. I'd love to lose 10 pounds at least.

Get well soon, Liza! Dental surgery is not fun. No matter if you need/want to lose 5 or 50, you need to be happy and healthy in your own skin. And to Jamie from Blondemomblog: I have just now made it past my 9 month weight (below) with my daughter and she's nearly 9, so take heart. You'll do just fine. Isn't it nice that we can encourage each other? Blessings. Gretchen

My dream weight would be 112 pounds. I would be pleased with 120 though. I was 120 about a year or so ago...I am currently 128. YIKES! I like to workout and that makes me a bit more muscular. So I am not so concerned about the scale. I do know it will get to 120. That is what I am shooting for. Anything beyond that would be icing. Hmmm, icing....I don't think I should even go there, should I?
