A Little Quiet Time For Mom

Ahh....peace and quiet...

G and Hubby have a Boy Scout event tonight. Ideally, I should have gone too but I didn't. Hubby was kind enough to bring along N so I can have my quite time. Being a working mom, I have learned that I cannot really go to all the kids events otherwise I will burn out. I did that before and I did burn out. Since hubby is going, I stayed at home to "re-energize". When they come home, hubby will be tired and I'm sure I'd be in charge of the "bedtime routine" (especially reading). If we both went, both of us will be tired and there won't be any reading time before bed....

It's nice to have some peace and quiet after a hard days work....

This is very wise, Liza. Good for you! I have the weekend to unwind - it's rare, but I SURE am loving it.

you are wise to balance your time. that's so hard for me - balancing my time. but i often learn the hard way - when i don't rest; i crash :)

Good for you to get some time alone! Like you, I value that time to energize.

Time alone is invaluable! One reason I chose my new job wiht odd hours was because it allowed me a day a week to myself to relax and clean without anyone around. I can enjoy my family more knowing I have that day coming!
