Thankful Thursday: Husband

It's almost 12 midnight. I just got done doing the display board for Tech Quest Maui. It's basically a science camp project that Cassie (my friend) and I are involved with (since our kids are so into these - science, robotics, legos, etc.). I could have finished it earlier (the kids were helping me, especially G) - but being the perfectionist that I am, I couldn't help but try to make it nicer than plain - therefore I added borders on every photo - and yes that took time. Anyway, as much as I need sleep, I know I will not be able to sleep right away (body ready to sleep, mind very much awake full of ideas and thoughts) so I thought I'd do a Thankful Thursday post.

* I am thankful for my husband. Yes, we disagree on things, but in the very core of our heart and soul, we are one. He is on a missions right now, in the Philippines, with other Men of Hope, and he is having a great time ministering to the Filipinos, especially the kids. I am thankful that God is using him there to minister and is also using this time to minister to B (my hubby). B said he's been reading the Bible more, and learning to listen again. The "learning to listen" again is very touching to me. You know, when my husband and I were on a dating stage, we prayed a lot for God to confirm and let us know if we were really for each other. We listened and God confirmed it to us in a very clear way - no room for doubt. It was pretty amazing how God lead us to read a bible passage (story of Isaac and Rebecca), and how God confirmed in our hearts that those were the verses for us. But after 15 years of marriage, it gradually changes - I mean we don't agree on some major issues and it gets complicated. To make the long story short, before hubby went to the missions last week, we had a huge argument in the car (yes on his way to the airport) - and I was getting very very frustrated that we are not hearing the same thing from God regarding family (particularly finances). But now, we're ok...

Well... this post is supposed to be a "bullet list" of things I am thankful about and it seems it's turning into a post on marriage again... The long and the short of it - we are doing well (long distance relationship - back where we started...).

So much for the bullet list of what I am thankful for. I think I'd start and end with I am thankful for my husband. That alone is a major blessing. (Prayer Request - Please pray for healing of his knee - for the pain and discomfort to go away - thank you).

I agree...not sure what I would do without my husband. He has been a blessing from God since the day we met.

Liza,

Maybe it's supposed to be a bullet list, but you wrote what was on your heart to be thankful for and may the Lord bless you!

Yes, our husbands are are major blessings in our lives, it's just sometimes difficult to live day in and day out with another sinful being. I'm glad things have been ironed out.

Have a blessed week, Liza.

Oh Liza, that is what I love about you, you wanted to write a bullet list. But you shared from your heart. :) I always love your honesty and sharing your heart.
Marriage isn't always easy, I know. But there is always much to be thankful for when we look more at the good in our husbands then the bad. I know I often focus so much on the bad traits, that I miss the good ones. :)
