Mothers Day 2008 - Happy Mothers Day Indeed

This Mothers Day weekend has been wonderful. I am reminded over and over again how blessed I am and how I should be very thankful. For the sake of brevity, I will mention just the highlights of this weekend, and why it is indeed a Happy Mothers Day:

1. N got to sing with the Worship Group today. At Hope Chapel. I am happy and thankful that she too loves to worship God and she's happy to help lead the congregation to worship through singing. As many of you already know, I love worshipping God through singing (even though singing doesn't like me ;)) and so this is a big deal for me. Here's a photo of the kids singing worship (Thank you Uncle Joe for "discipling" these little ones in worship):

N made a clay portrait of me:

2. G was complimented on how polite he is. G slept over with a bunch of boys at his friends house. It was supposed to be just a birthday party from 4-8 PM but the boys were having so much fun, the mom allowed for a sleepover to boys whose parents would allow them to stay. G stayed, and when I picked him up this morning, the birthday boy mom said he's so polite, he's welcome to go to their house anytime. She went on and on telling me stories on how my son were always saying thank you and please, etc. For a mom, hearing another mom say nice things about their son makes a day. It did make my Mothers Day happy.

Here's a photo of G's gift to me. A vase with a flower he made :)

and a sentimental poem:

3. I got lots of gifts, flowers, etc. My husband made me feel special, above and beyond what he already does. My kids gave me special gifts. My co-workers and friends Kim and Bill gave me a pot of roses and a sweet Mothers day card.

Not that I am particular about the "gifts" per se, but I do love the thoughts and sentiments that goes with it.

Yaawwwwwnnn.....

Since I am already yawning and tired, I guess I'd have to end up this post. Just quickly - some other highlights of the weekend:
1. The "Run For Kit" was fun.
2. Hubby and I got some time together alone on Saturday afternoon when G was in a party and N was with the Lynches..
3. We ate at a Mexican Restaurant for lunch on Mothers Day.
4. I brought some flowers to some of the residents of a retirement place here on Maui.
5. Mom (MIL) loves the flowers we sent her.
6. I talked to my mom on Thursday.
7. I planted Pikake (Sampaguita)in a pot on our lanai (deck).

Yaaawwwnnn.... I need to go to bed ...

Before I sleep, here's one more photo to remember Mothers Day 2008:

This Aloha T-shirt is a gift from my hubby.

This post wraps up my Mothers Day Series for 2008.
I will announce the winner of the Amazon Gift Card tomorrow.
Thank you all for celebrating Mothers Day with me here on my blog :)
