Seasons of My Life

This morning I was thinking about seasons ... not just the seasons like winter, spring, summer or fall. I was thinking about the seasons ... of my life. And I am so thankful ...

There was a season in my childhood and youth when I was very insecure, but the Lord brought me friends and with their help (even without them knowing) my self-esteem grew...

There was a season in my life (in college) when I was feeling unsure, afraid, uncertain of my purpose in life ... then the Lord revealed himself to me in a personal way.

There was a season in my life when I fell in love with a guy who is not a Christian, and because I have committed myself to not being equally yoked with a non-Christian in marriage, I had to let go ... and after that difficult season, the Lord brought a new love, and that love is still my love today... my husband of 14 years ...

There was a season in my life when I had to move away from my family to a place unfamiliar, with new culture, new environment and i had to develop new friendships. I was homesick. And add to that the seasons of adjusting to married life .. to someone so different from who I am ... it was a trying season - with good and bad times altogether .. but through it all, God was with me ...

There was a season in my life when I worked for a church, I loved working in the ministry. And then when that season was about to end, I was afraid that I was disappointing God, but God assured me that He's moving me to another season and it's ok to leave the "full time ministry" work for a while...

There was a season in my life when we had two kids in diaper, I was working full time, my husband was working 2 jobs and my kids were going to 2 different baby sitters and I had to prepare them both in the morning and drop them off myself because my husband was already at work. Looking back, i don't know how I survived that season, but I did. God gave me strength every step of the way ... This was the season when we committed ourselves to paying our credit card debts and being a good steward of what God is providing to us...

And now I am in the season of working part-time (debts paid), with tween kids (soon to be teenagers) and I am praying that as God gave me the wisdom and the strength on all the other previous seasons in my life, He will also do the same ... and I know He will...

This Thursday, as I think back on those seasons, I am very thankful.

Great examples of how God helped you through all of those different seasons in your life. That is so awesome that your debts are paid off. Congratulations. I listen to Money Matters with Howard Dayton and my husband and I are working on it. I can't wait until we have true financial freedom - freedom from debt and the ability to serve Him without the financial hang ups.

Happy TT,

Yes, thank God for all those seasons in your life. I love in Ecc. when it concludes, "He makes ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL" after each season.

Have a blessed day!

I just posted a somewhat similar post on my blog about our busy season.....but that too is a season, and just as you said....God is seeing us through and walking these seasons with us.

So glad to hear the part time job seems to be working out for you! :)
