Armor of God, and the Roaring Lion

The other day when I arrived at the office, one of my officemates said "Oh I heard you're now popular". My first thought was he heard about my blog. But I didn't want to assume so I asked "what do you mean?". "Well, K said there's a message in the recorder for you" he said "What message?" I asked. "Oh, she hasn't told you yet. Someone who's a 'breather' ", he laughed. That's all he needed to say for me to know it was an obscene phone call. I decided to ignore it. Didn't even listen to it. But these Bible words below came to mind when I debated whether to do anything more about it or not:

Ephesians 6:10-17:

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armor of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench
all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

I Peter 5:8

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert.
Your adversary, the devil,
prowls around like a roaring lion,
seeking someone to devour.

Whoever that guy was (I am not even sure if it was really intended for me, K said it wasn't clear but it sounded like he called my name) .. I pray that the Spirit of God will grab ahold of him. I don't take this lightly, but I am not afraid either. God is my protector. He will not let anyone harm me.

What a great set of verses, especially when we feel fear lurking around the corner. You're wise to put this in God's hands. He is with you!
