Sunday Scribblings: Goosebumps

"Goose bumps" is more commonly called "chicken skin" here on Hawaii. I have not seen a goose skin yet, but I can attest to the fact that the chicken skin (when those feathers were plucked) do look like our skin when we get "goose bumps" (I mean "chicken skin" ;) ).

When I first saw the prompt, I thought, oh that is easy. There are so many occasions in which I had goose bumps. But the moment I wanted to post about it, I can't think of specific moments. I have a lot of those chicken skin moments ... but you see, I told you I am in a rushed mode and when I am in a rushed mode, I can't think of my "chicken skin" moments.

OK, I remembered one ... it's during watching Endeavour take off this week. There's more..if I have the time, I'd come back to this post...

Other bloggers have better things to say about Goosebumps. You can find them at Sunday Scribblings here.

I missed the blast off, but bet it was a great source of "goose pimples" -- that's what we called it where I came from as a child. ;)

That made the news over here in France. I can imagine it giving you goosepimples.

I once saw a space shuttle lift-off live from Cape Canaveral in Florida. We had to get there really early in the morning and we were miles away from the actual site, so we were seeing it from far away, but it was worth it. It was definitely a goosebump-inducing experience!

Endeavor's lift off has special significance to our family. My niece was chosen as one of 18 Idaho students to ask Barbra Morgan, one of the astronauts, and an Idaho native, questions while she's in space.

That should give us all plenty of chicken skin!

That's so funny that people call it chicken skin in Hawaii! Language is such an interesting thing! I couldn't think about what gives me goosebumps either so I wrote about my students experiences!

Yep, the Song of Solomon or Song of Songs. Its Hebrew title is שיר השירים, Shir ha-Shirim, or something like that... =)

Ever since the Challenger disaster, I get goosebumps when I watch the shuttle take off -- and they only start to let up after the two minute mark has passed. It's hard to believe it's been over 20 years -- it seems like it happened so recently. Thanks for the post!!

I'm sure you have had many wonderful moments but that one is a good one. ;)

I watched the Endeavor take off (on TV) though it is right around the corner from me. Incredible viewing.

I can make the chicken skin come just imagining that lift off. Nice post, even if you were rushed!
