Morning Rush and My Daughter

About two weeks ago I was having my usual morning rush. I was running late. While at the door, my daughter called "Mom, mom". I shouted back "what?! what?!" with an obvious annoyed tone of voice. She came running down the stairs and said "I just want to give you this. Have a good day at work" :

So you can just imagine the guilt feeling I had. Don't even get me started with guilty feelings, because I have a lot of those as a working mom. Come to think of it, my daughter is growing so fast. She's a tween now, and before I know it, she'll be a teenager. My husband and I are already discussing stuff like "let her use birth control pills or not" at the onset of puberty. Lots of issues to consider....

My daughter is a very sweet girl but she's also got her Dad's personality - Type A, extrovert. Now if you'd excuse me, I think I'd read my "Everything About Tween" book once again....

P.S. I Love My Daughter

Nice drawing. :) And that's so sweet of you daughter. Sometimes too I'm guilty of getting home late at night because of work. That's why I make it up with my daughter when I'm home. Super bonding. And about the book, good that you've mentioned it, I'm going to buy me that.

What a sweetheart! That is an awesome picture.

Unfortunately I am notorious for being late and grumpy in the morning.

This is so true. So many times I say to my kids, "not now, I have to work." When I need to just spend a little time with them.

Your daughter is precious!

I know that working mom guilt all too well. Kids have an amazing way of reminding us what's important don't they?
