Blog Therapy

Here's my dd and I's converstion a couple of days ago:

DD: Mom, why do you blog a lot?
Me: What do you mean?
DD: I mean everytime I come here (our room where the computer is) I see you blogging...
Me: Well, blogging helps me express my thoughts, make friends...(blah, blah, blah)
DD: Yeah, but I think you should spend more time with your family....
Me: (Ouch!)
Disclaimer: I can assure you, I do spend a lot of time with my family. She just wanted to play at the time she saw me blogging, therefore the "spending time with family" issue came up.

However, after that conversation with my dd, I have decided that I will only post and read blogs when the kids are asleep. Also, that conversation made me think of why I blog a lot. The answer seems to be found in what Jayred wrote in her blog. I was going to expound some more on why I personally blog, but my blogging time is up. Maybe next time....

Ouch! It's tough when our kids say stuff like that isn't it? Like all us moms don't feel guilty enough already about everything. I've been there too.

Sometimes I feel that way about my husband (Tim). He's, like, always on the computer. But I see what he writes and I wouldn't want to change a thing.

What a beautiful little girl.

Sometimes I know I should feel guilty when I am not paying 100% attention to family, but you know, there are a lot of times when they are not paying attention to me.

That is not a get even statement--just a balance statement.

So I have to ask myself if I should be doing something else or if this is an okay time. And when they do need me all of a sudden, I try be cheerful and finish my thing quickly and attend to their need. But then I expect the same courtesy.

It seems to get easier as they get older.

I try not to blog while my girls are up but I'm definitely guilty as charged! Usually if they are busy playing or watching a video I will take it as a chance to get caught up with my blog reading (or asleep like right now!) :)

Hi@ Welcome to Pinoy Moms Network. I also schedule my blogging, after all the mommy 'obligations' are done, then I can blog and surf to my heart's content. :)

Welcome to the PMN Lisa. That's an ouch ;). Sometimes I spend too much time infront of the computer bloghopping(just like now) hehehe. But you know, it's my way of socializing and yes, therapy. Instead of going out to the malls, I would rather travel the world with a click of a mouse.
