Anxiety Buster

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear,
because fear involves punishment,
and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
I John 4:18

Yesterday I posted about tackling my anxiety, and a blogger friend Kamsin from Fearfully Made wrote some encouraging words in her comment. She said "My thought reading this is that something like anxiety will not be tackled by focusing on overcoming it. Like maybe the more you think about you anxiety, the more anxious you can end up getting. I love that verse about how perfect love drives out all fear.... I pray you can really grow in understanding how huge God's love for you is, so much so that there isn't any room left on your radar to be anxious about anything. Just a thought. There are days when our "demons" need fighting, but there are over days when we just need to basque in God's love."

As I basqued in God's love the rest of the day yesterday, my anxiety faded away. It worked for me.

I love how God can use people whom we've never met to minister to us! This post reminds me of the hymn: "Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace." That song has carried me through MANY, MANY rough times. I find that, when I start to focus on Him and His greatness, and take time to praise Him for who He is, I realize how BIG this God is and that He really CAN take care of me. And I also realize how small and powerless I am without Him, so worrying and trying to figure things out is futile. Glad you were encouraged today! And glad it Worked For You!

Glad my words spoke to you. I guess God can even use the blogosphere to minister and encourage one another. Hope the rest of the week brings more blessings your way.
